Skin Nurition

As the weather gets warmer, we start taking off the layers of clothing and we begin to notice our skin. Is it dry & pale? A t this time of year we are not only looking at our bodies but the skin we are in. As we start getting in shape for bathing suit season we should also be getting our skin in shape. In addition to not smoking, covering up, sunscreens and moisturizers, our food intake also influences how our skin will look today and in the future. Almost all the supermodels and other beauties credit their beautiful skin and radiance to a large consumption of water, moisturizers, sun block and good genes. We can ’ t do anything about the genes we’ve inherited that we do have control over what we put in an on our bodies .

Vitamins Good for Skin Nutrition

Vitamin C reduces damage caused by free radicals: free radicals interfere with collagen and elastin, causing wrinkles and other signs of aging. Make sure your diet includes plenty of vitamin-C rich foods

Vitamin E. Research shows that, like vitamin C, this potent antioxidant helps reduce the harmful effects of the sun on the skin. Vitamin E can also help reduce wrinkles and make your skin look and feel smoother

Vitamin A. is necessary for the maintenance and repair of skin tissue. Fruits and vegetables are loaded with vitamin A.

Vitamin B Complexes of which the important is biotin, it affects skin, nail, and hair cells. Without adequate amounts, you may end up with dermatitis (an itchy, scaly skin reaction) or sometimes even hair loss. Your body makes plenty of biotin, and the nutrient is also in many foods, including bananas, eggs, oatmeal, and rice.

Minerals Beneficial for Skin Nutrition

Spring water contains natural supplies of important minerals. Drinking & washing your face with mineral water may help your skin benefit from the mineral content.

Selenium, scientists believe this mineral plays a key role in skin cancer prevention. The best dietary sources of selenium include whole-grain cereals, seafood, garlic, and eggs.

Copper with vitamin C and the mineral zinc, helps to develop elastin and reduce bruising.

Zinc Is important if for healing. Food sources of zinc include oysters, lean meat, and poultry.

Essential Fatty Acids are nutrients that are crucial to the production of skin's natural oil barrier. We need a balance of omega-3 and omega-6. While most folks get plenty of omega-6s (in baked goods, cooking oils, poultry, grains, and many other foods), omega-3s are often lacking. They're found mostly in cold-water fish, including salmon, sardines, and mackerel, flaxseed, and flax and safflower oils

Skin Nutrition is not t hat much different from general nutrition. Common sense tells us we need a balanced diet to keep our bodies running at optimum; benefits from the healthy body include looking better and feeling better about ourselves . Beautiful skin comes from within, from healthy body. True beauty does not comes from a jar; keep in mind that coat of paint on an ill maintained house is just that; it is better to work on foundation to create a stable base whether in a new home or for our bodies. So eat sensibly, drink plenty of water, use common sense in the sun and use moisturizers.

Even here our foods can provide the base for the moisturizers that we can make it home. Check the ingredients on the packaging especially in the organic or natural products and you will find things such as olive oil, cocoa butter, lanolin , omega-3 and omega-6s, honey, beeswax and other natural ingredients. It is amazing what a good choice in foods can do for you, both in and on you.
